Drawdown Guardian.

Watches your equity in real time and blocks new trades the moment you're near your daily or max loss limit — because passing a challenge means nothing if the account is already gone.

How it works

Every rule, in plain language.

No black box. If you can't explain a tool, you shouldn't trust it near your account — so here's exactly what this one does.

01

Real-time equity monitoring

No fixed timeframe — it watches your account tick by tick, not just on candle close. The moment you're near a limit, it knows.

02

Independent daily & max loss limits

Set your daily and max drawdown limits separately, matching your prop firm's actual rules — not a single generic threshold.

03

One-click prop-firm presets

FTMO, FundedNext and The5ers rule sets built in — or build a fully custom profile for any firm's specific limits.

04

Trailing drawdown & profit lock

Supports trailing max-loss calculations for firms that require it, and can raise your floor as you bank profit so a good day can't fully unwind.

05

Two-stage panic close

One click arms it, a second confirms — closes everything instantly when you need it, but a stray click can't nuke a healthy account.

Setup

Three settings that matter. Sane defaults for the rest.

ParameterDefaultWhat it does
Daily loss limit5%New trades block automatically the moment this is hit.
Max loss limit10%Trailing or static — matches how your specific firm calculates it.
PresetFTMOOne-click profiles: FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers, or fully custom.
Panic closeTwo-stageArm, then confirm — no accidental full-account closes.
Honest fit

Who this is for — and who it isn't.

Built for you if

  • You're trading a funded or challenge account and want a hard technical backstop, not just willpower
  • You want your daily/max usage visible at a glance, not calculated in your head mid-session
  • You run multiple prop accounts and want consistent, rule-based protection across all of them
  • You'd rather a tool block you than explain a blown account after the fact

Skip it if

  • You want something that also places trades — this protects, it doesn't enter
  • You're trading a personal account with no external drawdown rules to enforce
  • You already have equivalent protection built into your own EA
  • You plan to raise your own limits the moment they feel restrictive
Questions

Before you ask.

Any broker running cTrader. The built-in presets cover FTMO, FundedNext and The5ers rule sets; the custom profile lets you match any other firm's daily and max loss limits exactly.

No. Guardian is a protective layer, not a strategy — it blocks and closes, it never opens a position. Pair it with any bot or manual trading you already do.

New trades are blocked immediately. You can also configure it to force-close all open positions at the hard limit, regardless of what opened them — including other bots running at the same time.

Yes — cTrader's free cloud execution runs the panel 24/5 without your machine. It also works running locally on desktop if you prefer.

v1.1 adds email alerts as you approach your limit, not just when you hit it — so you get a warning while there's still time to react.
